Donald Safstrom, CPA, CFP®
Don has been part of the Safstrom & Company team since 1980. As president, he is responsible for the overall management of the firm, and primarily responsible for client services in the Seattle office. He specializes in individual, corporate and partnership taxation issues, business accounting solutions, estate planning and personal financial planning. Don has extensive experience with equity based compensation issues, including stock options, profits interests and partnership compensation planning.
Don was previously employed by our predecessor firm, William A. Safstrom, CPA. Before entering the tax and accounting profession, he was a high school teacher.
Don earned a BA in Business Administration (Accounting) and a BA in History (double major) from Seattle Pacific University. Don is a CPA, PFS, CFP®, CCIM and holds the FINRA Series 6 & 7 and NASAA Series 63 & 65 securities licenses. He is a member of the Washington Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs, including both the Tax Practice & Financial Planning Sections, and a member of the Financial Planning Association.
In his free time, Don enjoys boating, camping, hiking and other outdoor activities with his family.
